What do you sell?

We sell amazing indie games in limited quantity temporarily discounted in a flash sale to drive awareness about the games and developers themselves. These games are sold in the form of Steam keys when you make a purchase.

Do you sell non-Steam games?

At this time we only sell Steam keys. We are not against expanding to other platforms, we're keeping things simple and will see as the industry grows what other platforms we should support.

Why are there only a few games offered every week?

We want to ensure that the games we pick receive the attention they deserve. We hand pick a small selection of games and place them on our front page for sale for a limited time for maximum visibility. Once that time is over, those games can no longer be purchased.

How do I create an account?

Sign in using an existing Facebook, Google, Steam, or Twitter account. We use the OpenID decentralized authentication protocol so logging in through those social media sites is supposed to just make things easier for you (who really wants to remember another login/password combination?). We don't get access to your passwords or anything like that as you'll notice you login through their websites and you simply grant our website access to a secure token which we use to authenticate. If after all that you still don't trust it, you can simply create your own account with your own email and password the old school way.

How can I change my password?

If you signed in through OpenID (Facebook, Google, Steam, Twitter) then we don't have access to those passwords and you should only have to click on the "Sign in with _____" to log in. If you've created your own password through the old school method of creating an account on our site, navigate to the forgot my password tool to reset your password.

What happened to the giveaways you guys used to do?

As you may know, we've been running game giveaways for the past 2 years. With the re-launch of Greenlight Arcade we've transformed our giveaways into Key Farms . Key Farms let you to search and dig for free Steam keys. Check out the Key Farm entry in the F.A.Q. for more info.

Website

What is XP?

XP or experience points or exp are ways we reward you for participating on Greenlight Arcade. Similar to receiving 2064 XP for your party after slaying a Chimera in Final Fantasy, XP will level you up and leveling up means more powers and more discounts.

What is a level?

A level is an XP amount required to unlock your next level. At each level, just like many other games, you'll unlock a special ability. We call these abilities "power-ups". For more information on the amount of XP required for each level, and the different power-ups avaialbe at different levels, check out our Tutorial page

What are Power-ups?

Power-ups are temporary buffs or perks given to your account that will give it super powers! Each time you level up, you're given several power-ups to choose from, but you may only pick one to keep and the rest are lost. Choose wisely! Some examples of powers might be:

• 10% off of all purchases made within the next 7 days.
• 15% Discount off of all purchases for 1 day + 10 Tokens.
• 100% Bonus XP for 7 days

Power-ups always expire and are non-transferable. We have an entire page dedicated to levels & powerups for more detailed information.

How do I gain XP to level up?

You earn XP by participating in the Greenlight Arcade community. Digging through Key Farms, looting the Treasure house, sharing collections and games on your social media, and purchasing items at the token shop. Just as how creeps get tougher in RPGs and reward you more XP, these site activities also give you increasing amounts of XP as you level up.

How do I share things to gain XP?

To share a page on our site, click on the large square social media icons located typically underneath the title contents and before any media such as screenshots or videos. Notice: If you are using uBlock Origin or a similar ad block tool, it may hide the social media buttons. If you want to display them, simply whitelist greenlightarcade.com.

What is the Token Shop?

The Token Shop is the local shop where tokens can be exchanged for items. Items come in the form of consumables that can be applied to orders to grant extra discounts or bonus XP.

What is the Market?

The Market is where tokens can be exchanged for games. Games typically will range between 50-300 tokens. Yes these are Steam games that you can get for free using your tokens. There's a limit of 1 copy per user.

What are tokens and how do I get me some?

Tokens are Greenlight Arcade's virtual currency. You earn them as you purchase and they're a form of loyalty. The higher your level, the more tokens you earn per dollar spent on the site. Tokens can be used to purchase items (coupons) which can be applied to orders. You can also use tokens to buy games through the Market. In addition to earning tokens, token bundles can also be purchased with real money via the Token Shop.

Where can I spend my tokens?

Tokens can be spent at the Token Shop and the Market.

What are items?

Items are essentially the potions and relics used at the time of purchase for additional discounts or extra bonus XP. Items can be purchased from the Token Shop.

Only 1 item may be applied to an order at a time. A power-up's discount will always apply before an item's discount. For example, if you have a $10 valued cart, and have a 10% off power-up AND a 10% off item applied, then your total discount would be $10 x (10%) x (10%) = $8.10. As you can see, it's not 20% off in total; it's 10% off of the previously applied 10% off. Honestly, we're doing this so that you can't end up with a negative balance and having us owe you money.

What is the Treasure House?

The Treasure House is a random bonus event that pops up randomly from time to time. Visiting the Treasure House will grant you the option to pick from 3 treasure chests. Normal and sometimes rare items can be found within. Treasure houses can only be looted once and then you have to wait for the next one to pop up. Follow our social media and we'll announce when the Treasure House has popped up again. If you see a little treasure box icon in the header, it means a Treasure House has popped up! Clicking on it will take you to the Treasure House.

What are Key Farms?

Key Farms are a place where users can search and dig for free Steam keys. What? More simply put, when a developer wants to give away Steam keys, we hide them in a field of keys. Some keys are winners, others are not. Each player gets a chance to dig one hole for each Key Farm we have. If you find a key  , you receive it instantly in your inventory. If you don't, you're out of luck, but you still get some XP for trying. Once all the real Steam keys have been farmed out of a Key Farm it is closed off and can no longer be looted for XP. We'll continue to open up new Key Farms for new games periodically. Key Farms are also gated depending on the level of your account. Some Key Farms may only be accessible for those with high level accounts. We want to reward those on our site who have worked to increase their level.

What is the Logbook?

The Logbook is a place to see all of the activity of the community. Who is doing what and when. It's the pulse of the website. Anything players do is posted here except for sensitive information specific to users such as Order #'s and any personal information. If you do not want to have your information shown in the logbook, you may turn off your visibility by going to My Account > Settings > uncheck the logbook option and press the "Save Changes" button.

Users also have their own personal logbook that can be seen when they view their account profile page. It's a summary of all their activity including more sensitive information such as Order #'s or refund information. Only you can see your logbook

What is the Mailbox?

The Mailbox is where you can go to send or gift items to other players. It doesn't cost anything to use and there is no limit on the amount of items you can send.

Buying

What is your Refund Policy?

We have a 14 day return policy on keys that have not yet been unlocked. Once a Steam key is unlocked, it can no longer be refunded. Steam keys that are still locked after 14 days are also not eligible for refunds as we need to pay the developers for their sold keys and we don't want to keep them waiting too long. Items (e.g. 10% off potion) used in a transaction are typically not refunded but each refund is examined on a case-by-case basis.

Can I refund 1 game if I bought the game in a whole collection?

When buying games in a full collection you are given extras such as items that you would not normally receive buying the games individually. For this reason, we do not allow refunding single games purchased in a full collection. The full collection must be refunded and the other individual games purchased separately.

How can I make a Refund?

Email us at info@greenlightarcade.com with your transaction ID and username/email and we'll get in touch within 2 business days.

What happens if I want to buy something that is sold out?

Once an item is sold out, it's sold out. There is the slight possibility that the developer may offer more copies of their game to be sold before the end of the sale, but this is up to the discretion of the developer. Re-stocks of Steam keys will be announced on social media.

I missed a game that was on sale. Can I still get it?

Nope. The nature of the site is that we're constantly cycling games to give exposure. If you've missed a sale, it's gone. It might come up again in the future but who knows when.

What payment options do I have?

We process all of our transactions directly through PayPal. In addition to using your PayPal wallet funds you can pay using Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, JCB, Diner's Club, and EnRoute.

How do I redeem my game key I buy?

After purchasing on the PayPal payment page, you'll be taken back to Greenlight Arcade with the option to unlock your key(s). Once you unlock your keys by pressing the "Unlock These Keys" button, you can open up Steam desktop client, click on the "+ ADD A GAME..." button in the bottom left, choose "Activate a product on Steam", click "Next", and "Agree" to get past the Steam Agreement, and then past the key you received from Greenlight Arcade into the input box on the Steam window that just popped up. Alternatively, follow Steam's instructions here

Can I sell or give away my keys?

Steam keys purchased on Greenlight Arcade are for personal use only. We do not allow selling or redistributing keys from your purchases.

Is there a purchase limit for games?

Yes, at this time you can only buy a maximum of 4 copies of any game.

We're a super small team of indie game developers / entrepreneurs who want to try something different in the e-commerce game.

Selling

I'm a developer. How do I get my games on this site?

Hello there! We'd love to hear from you. Email us at info@greenlightarcade.com and we'll get you set up. We do everything 100% digital and have the entire process streamlined as we know what it's like dealing with big platforms and bundle sites (way too much paper work and takes ages to ever get your money).

What is the revenue split for developers?

We want to be more than a simple game selling website. We want to be a developers partner in helping foster awareness for your game and team. We offer a 70/30 split on the net earnings of all game sales (developer takes 70, we take 30). You are also encouraged to provide a limited number of keys which can sell out, so you never sell more discounted copies than you want to.

Are my Steam keys safe with you guys?

Steam keys are fully encrypted and can only be decrypted by a specific algorithm on a specific server.

How and when do I get paid?

Once your game's sale period is over, we'll be sending you a sales report with the amount of copies sold, your net earnings, and sales data within 15 business days along with your payment via PayPal.
